SmartBits.ca is a solo consulting practice based in British Columbia. I do the discovery, the design, the build, the testing, the documentation, and the handover.
Background
My career started hands-on: software development, requirements analysis, database design, and application support. That is where I learned how much operational pain comes from small, unglamorous gaps between systems and people.
From there I moved into solution architecture, project and programme delivery, portfolio prioritization, and leading cross-functional teams—work that ran across financial services and health benefits, covering integration, roadmaps, risk, dependencies, and stakeholder communication.
That combination is why I can sit with the people who run a process, design something workable, and then build and test it myself instead of handing it onward.
